It was developed as part of a DFG project led by the Landesarchiv Baden-Württemberg (2018-2021). The data was based on cross-archive digitised material and indexing data from the projects ‘Weimar - the first German democracy’ (Federal Archives) and ‘From the monarchy to the republic - digitisation of sources from the State Archives on the history of democracy’ (State Archives of Baden-Württemberg). The thesaurus currently consists of around 1000 descriptors (focus: subject terms) with GND and Wikidata reference, to which central system positions of the classification system, which maps the most important subject areas (including government and administration; economy and finance; society and social affairs; culture) and regions (German Empire; foreign countries; ceded territories) on topics and geography of the Weimar Republic, are assigned.
