It contains information on all 1,101 towns and municipalities with up-to-date core data, images, statistics, an overview of the associated districts, municipal coats of arms, etc. Local history data and descriptions as well as dates of first mention, forms of names, information on church history, historical statistics, etc. can be found for the approx. 3,500 sub-localities or municipalities that were independent until the 20th century, the approx. 16,700 other settlements or residential areas, approx. 3,500 deserted/abandoned places and the approx. 1,480 places that have been absorbed. In addition, the administrative levels (state, administrative districts, regional associations, districts, municipalities) of the state can be searched. These can also be used for navigation within the LEO-BW Ortslexikon module. You can access the location search via the menu. Most places can also be localised and researched using the map module.
