The terms are accompanied by a concise definition and are available as linked open data. At its core, the the BIO vocabulary deals with people, their relationships and life events. All events are linked to time intervals that are associated with specific relationships between people and groups or organisations. In vocabulary, many different types of life events are defined, including the including the obvious events of birth, marriage and death, but also special events such as coronation, performance and even murder. The vocabulary defines the event framework and provides a set of core types of types of events that cover many use cases. The respective superordinate groups should therefore be underpinned with specialised terminology. The aim of the of the vocabulary is to describe the biographical events of persons and and to underlay them with definitions of properties and classes that are both are both person-related and neutral. For example, the event ‘employment’, for example, the person employed and not the employer is considered the main the main actor of the event. Employment, for its part, could be categorised with vocabulary of professional activity, leisure time or other forms of employment, could be used. |
