(P724)?Digest:	DDB roles define the roles (functions) of the persons and corporate bodies involved in the creation, editing, sale, storage, dissemination, etc. of a work. The German Digital Library uses its own vocabularies in its data records. These are collections of designations that are clearly assigned to terms. The aim of the vocabularies is to avoid synonyms, i.e. each term has only one preferred term per language within the DDB. The vocabularies are used in the object pages and filters of the German Digital Library portal, among other things. They have been given a unique namespace and are therefore unique worldwide.
