| (P724)?Digest: | A controlled vocabulary is used for the media type in the DDB. Possible media types are currently ‘text’, ‘image’, ‘audio’, ‘video’ and ‘3D’. The decisive factor in determining the media type is not the format of the media file, but the basic form in which the content is expressed, conveyed and received. For example, every book page can be turned into an image file during digitisation. Nevertheless, the resulting digital object does not have the media type ‘image’, but ‘text’. In the DDB, search results can be restricted according to media type. |
