(P724)?Digest:	The vocabulary is used to assign historical place names of objects in the memorial facilities to standardised place and area names and their current affiliations (towns, regions, countries). In addition to assigning superordinate area designations, it is used above all to link and network cross-concordances. In this way, designations from DBpedia, GOV, Geonames, Wikipedia and the Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names are verified. This geographical thesaurus, which lists the most important geographical features of the five continents, including their seas and oceans, is a fundamental tool for identifying and describing collections of cultural heritage, making it possible to individualise each cultural object on the basis of its place of origin, production, issue and acquisition, and to complete its contextualisation with geographical reference descriptors.
